A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you’ve got a cloud hosting with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all option for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes with any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a given mailbox, you will have to click on the symbol with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the exact same way and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a certain domain, you’ll receive a warning message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never replace or deactivate any feature automatically.
